Course Title: Project Based Learning Across Curriculum

Course Instructor: Amery Martinez

Course Description: Project-based learning is a dynamic classroom approach in which students can actively explore real-world problems and challenges, and acquire a deeper knowledge and desire for learning. PBL motivates students to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and develop skills that will be beneficial in their pursuit of a career and higher education. In addition, PBL is a perfect means to interdisciplinary teaching and learning, for both teacher and student.

This session is designed to increase student and teacher engagement and foster self-directed learning through the use of Google Suite applications and third party digital learning tools. This session will explore how PBL fosters the combination of technology based learning skills and traditional learning skills, such as sketching, note taking, problem solving, etc. In addition, we will share ideas on how to incorporate assessment tools and learning standards, which include CCSS, NGSS, and NM State Standards. Since this is a workshop, a laptop (chromebook, macbook, HP) will be required.
